Reinvigorating Emma's experience

Gingersnap was the working codename for a behind-the-scenes project to completely redesign every facet of the Emma experience, from the Campaign Editor to the Response section, and even the internal-only admin tool. Our goal was to focus on clarity and simplicity to let the content and data truly shine.

Challenge

Emma was a beloved local email platform, but the visual style and overall thematic approach was very dated. I encouraged the team to think about the experience in a brand new light and come up with a new visual language direction to explore.

Outcome

Social was the last project I worked on at Emma, and it was the first project the lead developer and I had ever done in Ember.js. Sadly, I don’t believe the project ever launched, but building it with Andy Matthews was an incredible experience and I continue to be super proud of what we accomplished.
