The lead singer of More Hazards More Heroes asked me to design a logo and a one-page promotional site to showcase their debut album. I came up with a simple record-spinning music player concept and designed the page around the lyrics and some behind-the-scenes photography of the band for an intimate, personal feel.
The challenge
Design and build a showcase site for a new album from a new band. My approach was to listen to the music and let my feelings guide me to the right outcome. I followed the loose and exploratory folk style of the album to come up with a fun and exploratory mini-site to promote it.
Outcome
The Hazards site got accolades from all over the internet, being featured on tons of inspirational and award sites. It was one of the early popular “scrolling effect” sites, and for years afterwards I had bands and companies contacting me asking if I could do the same kind of site for them.
Most importantly, however, the band absolutely LOVED the site and promoted it at every opportunity.
